Mamma is going to start now - Starting at Gup 15 (White Belt).

Tyler was so close to receiving his black belt (2 months) but has decided not to continue due to personal reasons, which I'm trying to pry out of him!!!

Maybe he will return in near future.   I hope he does.

As far as I'm concerned, see notes on right side menu,  "We have instilled the words "TRY IT" , to our children, so I'm doing what I preach.

I have always wanted to try some type of martial art.

When I was young, my father took me aside and taught me how to box.  Being raised in a very tough neighbourhood, and being a french family in an all english neighbourhood, we were picked on alot - "Penny," dad said, "let them throw the first punch, protect yourself, especially your face, then go in and punch... sometimes it only take one!"

He was a huge Mohamed Ali, George Foreman, Sugar Ray Lenard fan.  We used to watch the fights every Thursday night together, eating popsicles.  I remember my dad always saying, watch watch his hands, see him protecting his face.... uppercut... see.... look at this, look at that... then we would try some moves.

Needless to say, fighting/boxing isn't something I am queezy about.  But to learn control, and techniques, and have that same sensation but no one getting hurt... is more my game... and I have discovered that it's a really GREAT stress releiver!!!  Something I really need now in my 40's.

I joined the Sparks Taekwon do in middle March of 2013.  I'm going for my double yellow stripe belt next Saturday... Stay tuned.
