This blog showcases the past accomplishments of Tyler and Brianna in the sport/art of TaeKwon Do. I have to say that we are very proud of them children. "Triumphs / failures" - nothing changes the pride and love we have for these 2 kids.

We have instilled the words "TRY IT" throughout our children's lives. Win or loose, Like it or hate it - you will know your limitation or lack of, what is possible or not, what you like or not and YOU will never have regrets or wonder, "What if"...

Trying something takes courage no matter how big or small the task at hand is..... this action is an accomplishment and THAT is what we are most proud of. What courage. What courage indeed.

At 18 and 20 years of age, the kids have their own lives to live, college, work and friends, the time for this sport/art is far and few in between. Hopefully one day they will return.

That being said, I have joined this wonderful school, so this blog is going to be my accomplishments for now - although probably alot less photos, as members of my are busy in their own lives, and I don't see them coming to class or tournaments and taking pics of me, any time soon so text is all you may get.

NO ONE is perfect - LEARN from your mistakes, be humble with your triumphs and move forward. Don't be hard on yourself as you learn. I must remember that to succeed.

Belt Colours and their Meaning

White, representing the innocence of the beginner.

Yellow, represents the seed as it first takes root in the earth

Green, signifying the plant's growth and development.

Blue, representing the Heavens toward which the maturing plant grows.

Red, warning the student to master self-control, and opponents to stay away.

Black, the opposite of white, signifying maturity and proficiency in Tae Kwon-Do. It indicates the wearer's imperviousness to darkness and fear.

Patterns and Gup Combinations

There are 24 standard patterns, one for each hour of the day. Each one has a meaning; elements are often symbolic of events in Korean history.
